Romancero

Andalusian culinary poetry

Editorial rebrand for Romancero, a restaurant in Málaga's Pasaje de Chinitas. The identity pays tribute to Lorca's Romancero Gitano and turns every piece —from menu to packaging— into a page from an open book.

01

The context

Romancero sits in Málaga's Pasaje de Chinitas, a focal point of the city's cultural tourism for its historic weight —the meeting ground of Lorca, Dalí and Picasso—. Foot traffic was never the problem; converting it was. The previous identity didn't stop passersby, didn't carry the legacy of the place and gave no clear reason to step inside.

02

The concept

The rebrand keeps the name and turns it into a guiding idea: Romancero as a culinary tribute to Lorca's Romancero Gitano. The strategic gesture shaping the experience is physical —verse fragments and carnations on every table— so the visitor stops to read, photographs, walks in. The brand stops being signage and becomes an invitation.

03

The solution

An editorial system that unites Andalusian culture with culinary art. Typography with narrative weight, restrained palette, illustrations of carnations, moons and horses drawn straight from the verses. Every piece —from menu to packaging— works like a page from an open book.

04

Application

Printed verse fragments and carnations on each table turn the visit into a sensory and literary journey. The identity is applied across physical touchpoints —bag, boxes, envelopes, matches, menu— and digital ones —social, content, communication—, holding up the same story: one that honors Lorca, Andalusian culture and the historic Pasaje de Chinitas.
